THE POWER OF A "NO"

One of the major challenges we are facing today is the incapacity to say ‘No’. We have all seen ‘No’ as a negative word which is not supposed to be so. The truth is that ‘No’ is as important as ‘Yes’.

Today we see ladies say ‘Yes’ to guys not because they like the guy nor they are interested in the relationship but because they cant just say ‘No’, of course this is an evidence of inferiority complex{low self esteem}.

‘NO’ doesn’t mea n ‘NEVER’, it only means that it is not the right time or thing, they are two different things. ‘No’ is temporal while ‘NEVER’ is forever. E.Stanley Jones said, “Your capacity to say No determines your ability to say YES to greater things”. Sometimes we just have to say no to some things especially those things that contradict our values and principles.

We have to say NO to sex out side the marriage environment, we have to say NO to drug addiction, we have to say NO to untimely & wrong relationships, we have to say NO to sin generally. And sometimes we have to say NO to things that are not our priorities. And if you are said NO to, it doesn’t bring the world to an end. I say to myself that any body that says NO to me does not deserve me at that particular time.

NO is an indication of a good will-power. Robert McKain said: “The reason most goals are not achieved is that we spend our time doing second things first”. Say YES to your priorities and NO to non-important things. First things first. Ninety five percent of achieving any thing is knowing what you want. John C. Maxwell quipped and I will close with it, “All leaders have learnt to say NO to good in order to say YES to the best”

RECOVERY

Philosophy: Everyday is a classroom, every experience a lesson and everyone we meet a teacher”- Dr Myles Munroe
I don’t know if you have been battered, shattered, bufflted, abused or raped and you have now become the shadow of your past .the message today is there still hope.
The woman caught in the act was brought to Jesus by religious men, they asked, testing Jesus, if they should stone her to death according to the law of Moses or release her according to the new commandment Jesus was introducing .But Jesus said to them : “he that hath no sin, let him cast the first stone on her”. And they left with their face on the ground. And Jesus said to the woman, “go in and sin no more”. God does not condemn us, he only commends us, for Christ commended his love towards us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
It doesn’t matter who is condemning you, if your creator is not condemning you then I don’t see any reason why you or any anybody else should condemn you.” for there is therefore now no more condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus …”
The woman oprah winfrey was raped by her uncle at the age six (6) and was consistently raped and abused by her relatives and other people till the age of sixteen when she got pregnant, to cut the long story, look at her today, making impact all around the world, she is presently the wealthiest black woman on planet earth and her show is the largest in the world .so what are telling me. You can still make the most out of your life .most times; your mess becomes your message. Your weakness may be your major strength.
Now lets do this experiment together; please bring out a currency either pound, dollar, euro, naira etc anyone from your pocket, lets use naira as our general example. If I bring out one-hundred naira (N100), the value of the cash is one hundred naira right? Yes, if I squeeze the currency, how much is it still worth? One hundred naira. if I step on it, how much is it still worth?, one hundred naira ,I still presume , if I write on it , how much is it still worth one hundred naira . if you tear it and join it together again , how much is it still worth ?,one-hundred naira ,no matter what I do to it , it doesn’t depreciate in value .it still remains one hundred naira .so no matter what happens to you, may be you have been squeezed ,stepped upon , torn battered ,raped ,abused .I have a good news for you, your value hasn’t depreciated you are still worth the same as your pastor or the most holy person you may think of in the eyes of GOD. God doesn’t love your pastor or whosoever more than you. You are precious to him, jut like the torn one hundred naira, he wants to put you back together again.
Give your heart to him, for he doesn’t just want to amend it, he wants to give you a new one. Remember. If any man is in Christ Jesus he is a new creature, old things are passed away behold ‘all’ things have become new. Your story today shall be your glory today.

Death is universal, it’s real, it’s powerful and it is gain. Death is the end of life here on earth; which means it is freedom and liberty, then how come people are running away from it. Even the bible says that, “There is a time to born and a time to die”. Which means that we are all going to die someday because death is not a respecter of persons, neither is it a respecter of age, background, personality, complexion, and to shock you Christianity. It is only a respecter of ‘conscious Christians’ and to an extent your discovery of purpose and your ability to affect lives with your purpose, because the moment you start touching lives, God starts touching you and therefore increasing the length of your days here on earth because he needs you to bring people into his kingdom.
Though the bible says, “Death has no power” but according to statistics an average of one person dies every four seconds. The bible also says “The grave has no sting” but people on a daily basis struggle to go into it. Death is the only stranger that comes without invitation and the visitor that has an appointment with every one.
But all the same, “Death is gain to the righteous but destruction to the sinners”

BEYOND SCHOOLING...GET EDUCATION

Quote: "Schooling only makes you literate, it is your investment in literature that secures your future. You are either building a library or you are building a mutuary"-Dr David Oyedepo
I sat down one morning to think about the impotance of school and I came to realise that we were not taught the most important things in school. Are you suprised?wow! in a few minutes you may agree with me.I don't know if you know of any university that taught you how to take your bath, do you know of any school that teaches on how to comb your hair and brush your teeth. What about eating? oh! may be I know.It is the school of life.
For so many learning stops after school, little wonder why they are mentally backward. I have seen graduates who cannot adequately articulate thier sentences,I have seen graduates who cannot properly express themselves in English,I have seen professors who are not possessors,I have seen scholars who are confused about what to do with their lives,I have seen PHD holders who have no control over their sexual appetites,I have seen degree holders who are living in mediocrity and abject poverty. The question you may be asking me right now is why?And that has been the question in my heart for so long a time now, until I found out that they went to school but didn't get education.
Schooling is not a prerequisite for success but education is.Education is what you get out of schooling. There is the 'life of school' and the 'school of life'.Enroll in the school of life. It's high time we started producing graduates who have not only gone through school but those whom school have gone through.Schooling is mere going to school, education is the continious acquisition of knowledge, skills and expertise.BEYOND SCHOOLING...GET EDUCATION!
Philosophy:"If you stop learning, you are old whether you are 80 or 20, if you keep learning you are young whether 20 or 80.Therfore keep your mind young
